Need To Know - Missions/Missionaries - Web Links - Ask Goody

"Welcome to the Jr. High & High School ministry website of United Church of Lincoln. The goal of USM is to give you the opportunity to find out more about the historic man, Jesus Christ. Whether you're searching and just feeling this stuff out or if you call yourself a christian, we hope that you know this is a safe place for you. Safe to question, safe to ask "stupid" questions, safe to disagree and safe to just sit and listen.

Check out Need To Know for USM news! The web links for great stuff geared especially for you. Click on "ask goody" if you've got a question and don't feel like picking up the phone or talking to me in person. Also any feedback on our new web page would be appreciated.

We do alot of fun and exciting things here. We have a great time, but everything we do is done so that you can discover what Christ has already done for you and in turn, out of love and gratitude, you choose to live for Him.

If you're new, why don't you join us as we live and grow together. If you're old...not like really old like me, but old as in - have been to meetings or activities before - then welcome back!

USM NEWS! (March 2011)

We believe a high priority of a healthy youth ministry is to help teenagers become spiritually self-sufficient. Sure, we value creating fun environments for them to spend time with friends and caring adults while growing in the biblical purposes for their lives. But we know from experience that those who follow Christ after they graduate from the youth ministry are those who have learned to feed themselves spiritually.

That's why we believe in emphasizing HABITS, our acronym for six disciplines that can help students (and adults) grow spiritually on their own. These six are definitely not the only spiritual habits necessary for a self-feeding faith, but they are enough to get one started: Hang Out with God, Accountable Friendships, Bible Memorization, Involvement Within the Church Body, Tithing, and Studying Scripture. We’ll continue to teach these HABITS in the month of March.

USM celebrated the Super Bowl at the Old Hotel with over 30 kids. Thanks again, Matt, for letting us use the Hotel and thanks to a bunch of people from church who provided food! Over school break we went to a Mt. Abe’s Boys game and then had a “Lock-In” at the church.

March 20 th Regular Youth Group 6:30pm – 8pm
