Need To Know - Missions/Missionaries - Web Links - Ask Goody

"Welcome to the Jr. High & High School ministry website of United Church of Lincoln. The goal of USM is to give you the opportunity to find out more about the historic man, Jesus Christ. Whether you're searching and just feeling this stuff out or if you call yourself a christian, we hope that you know this is a safe place for you. Safe to question, safe to ask "stupid" questions, safe to disagree and safe to just sit and listen.

Check out Need To Know for USM news! The web links for great stuff geared especially for you. Click on "ask goody" if you've got a question and don't feel like picking up the phone or talking to me in person. Also any feedback on our new web page would be appreciated.

We do alot of fun and exciting things here. We have a great time, but everything we do is done so that you can discover what Christ has already done for you and in turn, out of love and gratitude, you choose to live for Him.

If you're new, why don't you join us as we live and grow together. If you're old...not like really old like me, but old as in - have been to meetings or activities before - then welcome back!

USM NEWS! (July 2010)

The Sr. High Canoe trip gathered its life vests, canoes, sleeping bags, crates and crates of food, coolers and more last Monday morning for a five day trip to the Adirondacks . Ten students went with leaders Todd, Carolyn Griggs, Matt Brown and Sara Quesnel. The trip was a great success and we are thankful there were no serious injuries. It was the most challenging trip we’ve taken (10+ hours of paddling and two different sites) and the students did a great job. Amidst the fun and games, a highlight of the trip was our group time around the fire.

The next trip will be with our middle school students. On July 23-25 we’ll spend two nights at the Patterson’s camp and spend a day at Six Flags.

USM will be co-sponsoring the Hill Country Holiday Auction this year along with Lincoln Sports. That means half the proceeds will go to USM, which will help us in our efforts to raise money for next year’s mission trip. If you have good useable items to donate, please leave a message at the church and USM will be happy to pick them up.

The Be-Bop Car Hop will take place on Saturday, July 31 beginning at 5 p.m. Fine dining and loads of fun!

We’d also like to recognize our long time leader, Carolyn Griggs. She was featured in a recent Addison Independent article. Enjoy!
