Prayer in the life of our church

This church has three distinct prayer ministries.

First, we have the Healing Prayer ministry. The study of Healing Prayer, under the guidance of Ruth Coyle, takes place most Friday nights at Ruth’s house. Anyone is welcome to attend.

Second is the Intercessory Prayer group that meets each Wednesday evening at 6:45 at Marjorie Vosburgh’s apartment at Weathervane. This dedicated group of folks spends time praying for all kinds of needs that have been brought to them.

Third is the Prayer Chain. The Deacons are in the process of re-doing the prayer chain list. Those who are a part of this ministry are charged with specific steps when a prayer request comes in.

1) write down the request

2) focus on request, passing it on immediately, then

3) pray immediately concerning the request.

As you can imagine, sometimes prayer requests are confidential , so Christian integrity must be exercised.

If you feel led to become a part of the prayer chain, speak to Dave at the church office (453-4280)

A 10 Week Bible Study to make us think!

“Experiencing the Bible Again for the First Time”

When we call people together in small groups to participate in Bible study, we are in effect inviting each other to come into the kind of learning community that Jesus gathered around him.

All adult women are invited to come to The Old Hotel for an overnight retreat on Friday April 11 beginning at 5:30 p.m. If you would like to sign up, please contact Judy in the church office. More information will follow in the weekly bulletins. (If you can’t come for overnight, come for the evening and return in the morning!)

Youth Ministry!

United Student Ministries

Thank you to the students who participated in the Easter Sunrise Service. That is one event we will not soon forget. Now we turn our attention to Vacation Bible School. Hopefully all of you have considered how you can help be a part of the team. Some things to think about: All MS/HS students who help that week will be invited on our yearly VBS surprise trip. Also, Senior High students who want to go on our Summer Canoe Trip must work 20 hrs or more at VBS to be eligible. Some students who are away over break, but who still want to go on the canoe trip, just need to talk to me and we’ll come up with a way for you to work your 20hrs.

Serving YOUth!

Pastor Todd

Do you have your Passport To The Promised Land?

Vacation Bible School this year will be held during spring break, April 21-25. Children will visit the Marketplace in Jerusalem, Mary and Martha’s house in Bethany, the carpenter shop of Nazareth, the sheepfold in Bethlehem, and the Synagogue at Capernaum. Adults are still needed to help out in several areas. If you are willing, contact Todd Goodyear or Nancy Luke, or the church office.

The Very Young

There is a new winter sign-up for child care during the worship service and second hour in the foyer. Please consider serving in this way. You may sign up to be the helper in the nursery during the worship service or during second hour (Sunday School) or supervise the preschoolers during sermon time child care.

Healing Prayer

The Healing Prayer group meets each Friday night at Ruth Coyle’s at 7:00 unless otherwise noted. (See Calendar) They take time to study healing prayer from one of many of Ruth’s resources, then they have a time of prayer for anyone who is in need. If you would like to come, whether to learn more about healing prayer or to receive healing prayer, you are welcome. Healing prayer teams are available any time by calling Ruth.
